Baku branch of Moscow State University held International Geographical Dictation 2017 for the first time in Azerbaijan

The project organized by the Russian Geographical Society for the first time in 2015 took an international scale this year.
International geographical dictation is a large-scale educational action aimed at assessing the level of geographical literacy of the population. In 2017, the dictation has already reached the international level, and on 26 November, regional platforms operated equipped specially for the purpose of conducting the dictation in more than 25 countries (including Russia, Azerbaijan, Argentina, Czech Republic, Denmark, Great Britain, Norway, Turkey, Montenegro, etc.).
Over 800 people wished to participate in the international dictation at the Baku branch. It should be noted that the Baku Branch of the Moscow State University has provided one of the largest venues for this event and was the first among foreign sites in terms of the number of the dictation participants.
On this day, all necessary conditions were created in the classrooms of the Baku branch of M.V. Lomonosov Moscow State University in Baku, twelve equipped rooms were provided.
The Geographical Dictation was conducted in Russian and was voluntary. The dictation included 30 test tasks, divided into three blocks. The first one consisted of questions on knowledge of geographical concepts and terms. The second one was aimed at checking the skills to work with the map. The third one was aimed at determining the geographical objects according to the records of travelers' diaries and excerpts from works of fiction.
Employees of the Institute of Control Systems of ANAS Aygun Aliyeva and Esmira Mamedova also took part in the Dictation.
