A regular meeting of the Science Council of the Institute of Control Systems was held
08.07.2021 /A regular meeting of the Science Council of the Institute of Control Systems (ICS) of ANAS was held on 7 July 2021.
The event was attended by the administration of the institute, members of the Science Council and invited guests, as well as young researchers of the institute.
The meeting was opened by the General Director of the Institute, Academician Ali Abbasov, who told the participants about the agenda and gave the floor to the Executive Director of ICS Aminaga Sadigov to proceed to the first item on the agenda.
Executive Director of ICS, Corresponding Member of ANAS Aminaga Sadigov, first reminded the participants of the appeal of the General Assembly of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences on 27 May 2021 to President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and gave detailed information on its main provisions.
He noted that the appeal reflects the important tasks facing the scientific institutions of ANAS, including ICS, in connection with the development of our country and the improvement of the well-being of our people. The ICS should actively participate in solving such problems as the integration of science and education, a modern scientific approach to army building, creation of an information society, protection of natural resources, etc. Then, the implementation of the resolution of the Presidium of ANAS No. 13/1 dated 10 June 2021 was discussed, and relevant decisions were made.
A. Sadigov also presented reports on the results of the work done in the ICS laboratories in the first six months of 2021, gave detailed information about the scientific results obtained, published scientific papers, innovation activities, grant projects and personnel training.
The Institute's semi-annual report was widely discussed, and a relevant decision was made.
Professor Elchin Aliyev, Head of Laboratory of the Institute, and representatives of Gorgud Holding LLC Jabbar Hasanov and Vagif Alekperov spoke about the “Smart Village” concept, developed on the example of the Horadiz village of Fizuli District of the Republic of Azerbaijan. It was noted that the “Smart City”
and “Smart Village” concepts developed by the consortium are fully consistent with the policy of restoration work in the liberated territories of our country.
It was noted that the planned participation of the ICS in the Consortium is due to the fact that the project is based on smart technologies. Large investments from local and foreign companies are expected. There is a good basis for public, private and academic collaboration.
The importance of economic and technological development in "Smart Village" was explained and detailed information on international cooperation and investment was provided. The speakers touched upon joint research of ANAS with relevant institutions in this field, about areas of research at ICS. The Science Council decided to petition to the Presidium of ANAS for approval of the project and its discussion at a higher level.
Then Corresponding Member of ANAS Aminaga Sadigov informed the participants about the proposals for the work plan of the Academic Council of ANAS on Science, Education and Technology for 2021-2022, and the proposals put forward by the ICS for inclusion in the Council's action plan for the next year were discussed.
The participants also discussed the issue of coordination and improvement of patent works and a relevant decision was made. Personnel and other current issues were also discussed.
Summing up the results of the meeting, the General Director of the Institute, Academician Ali Abbasov, emphasized the importance of creating a healthy competitive environment at the institute and further stimulating the work of productive scientists to fulfill the main tasks facing the institute, and presented certificates of merit of the Division of Physical, Mathematical and Technical Sciences of ANAS to a group of employees of the institute.
