Employees of the Institute of Control Systems visited the "Mother's Cry" memorial
26.02.2024 /On the occasion of the 32nd anniversary of the Khojaly genocide, employees of the Institute of Control Systems (ICS) of the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan visited the "Mother's Cry" memorial dedicated to the victims of the tragedy. The employees of the ICS honored the memory of the victims of the Khojaly tragedy cruelly committed against the civilian population of Azerbaijan, laid flowers at the monument and prayed for the souls of the martyrs.
The genocide committed by the Armenian armed forces on the night of February 25-26, 1992 in the town of Khojaly with extreme ruthlessness and cruelty, with the assistance of the 366th Motorized Rifle Regiment of the former USSR, is one of the gravest crimes committed not only against the Azerbaijani people, but also against humanity. This terrible criminal act, which served the dream of creating a "Great Armenia", was aimed at intimidating the Azerbaijani people fighting for national rights, crushing their determination in the struggle, forcing them to accept the loss of their historical lands. As a result of Khojaly genocide 5,379 inhabitants of the town were forcibly expelled from their homes, 1,275 people were taken captive and hostage, tortured (the fate of 150 of them, including 68 women and 26 children, is still unknown), 487 were inflicted bodily harm of different severity, 8 families were completely annihilated, 130 children lost one parent, 25 - both parents, 613 people, including 63 children, 106 women and 70 elderly people, were brutally tortured and killed.
As we know, the valiant Azerbaijani army under the leadership of the victorious Supreme Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev, as a result of the 44-day Second Karabakh War, restored historical justice, avenged the victims of the Khojaly genocide and all the martyrs who had given their lives for the Motherland. The precise conduct of local antiterrorist operations after the brilliant victory in the Patriotic War and the hoisting of our tricolor state flag last October in Khankendi, Khojaly and other areas also embodied the astute political will of the head of the state.
For thirty-two years, our people have borne in their hearts, in their lives the heartache, the unimaginable horrors of this bloody crime - the Khojaly genocide. The cherished memory of the victims of this tragedy will live forever.
May Allah rest the souls of all our martyrs!
