Academician Ali Abbasov took part in an international scientific conference
01.06.2024 /The international scientific conference “Science and Technology: Data Sources and Analytical Approaches for Development” was held in Moscow on May 29-30, 2024. The conference, organized by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of Russia and the International Centre for Scientific and Technical Information (ICSTI), was dedicated to the 55th anniversary of ICSTI.
ICSTI authorized representative (Russia), Director of the Department of Control and Audit of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation Olga Shamshina, Deputy Minister of Science and Higher Education Denis Sekirinsky, General Director of the Institute of Control Systems of the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan Academician Ali Abbasov, Chairman of the Board of the National State Center for Scientific and Technical Expertise of the Republic of Kazakhstan Academician Arman Kashkinbekov and Director of the International Center for Scientific and Technical Information (ICSTI) Academician Yuri Lonchakov spoke at the opening of the conference.
In his speech, Academician Ali Abbasov congratulated the ICSTI on the anniversary and noted that since the middle of the 20th century this center had made an important contribution to scientific, technical and economic cooperation between the USSR/Russian Federation and the countries of Eastern Europe, Asia, Middle East, Africa and Latin America. He highly appreciated ICSTI's contribution to the development and transfer of technical means and methods of scientific and technical information management, as well as to the creation of favorable conditions for the functioning of the information system within the framework of cooperation with UNESCO and other international organizations.
A.Abbasov emphasized the importance of the international scientific conference held within the framework of the 76th meeting of the Committee of authorized representatives of ICSTI from the point of view of discussing topical problems related to information security, global environmental crisis, social and international relations and search for their solutions. He spoke about the challenges faced by the world scientific community in solving the above problems and the need to propose new methods of scientific and innovative approach within the model of “public-private-academic” cooperation in managing the flow of academic information.
A.Abbasov noted that the information resources of the Center, established in Moscow in 1969 to support international cooperation in science, technology and business, is a geographically distributed database covering information resources of various content. He spoke about the role of intelligent systems based on Big Data, Data Analytics, Machine Learning, Deep Learning and artificial intelligence technologies, which are growing every day and improving the methods of collecting, processing and utilizing information generated from various sources.
It should be noted that the two-day conference was attended by representatives of Russia, Belarus, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Mongolia, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan and other countries.
