The German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) has started accepting applications for the Green Talents 2020 competition (www.greentalents.de). The aim of the competition, which has been held since 2009, is to award leading young researchers and scientists working in the field of sustainable development, to establish contacts with relevant German research institutes and to attract scientists to the country.

Candidates must be enrolled in a master’s or PhD program in a field related to sustainable development or have a degree (master’s/PhD) completed no more than three years ago, have no more than three years of professional work experience and an excellent command of English. The relevant expenses of the winners will be covered by BMBF.

To apply, candidates must complete and submit the online application form (ptoutline.eu/app/greentalents2020), as well as a cover letter and a letter of recommendation, scientific qualifications (diplomas and appendices), publications and patents, English language certificate (www.greentalents.de).

Application deadline is 19 May 2020.
