Main scientific achievements	Necessary and sufficient conditions for controllability and observability for linear hybrid systems have been established. By means of the theory of Lie groups, scientific results have been obtained in the study of dissipative localized thermal structures in open thermodynamic structures described by nonlinear heat equations. A fundamentally new solution to the problem of simultaneous monitoring by one observer of the readings of numerous (measured in hundreds) of heterogeneous sensors has been found.
