Main scientific achievements	The completeness of the systems of eigenelements of one class of non-self-adjoint operators that polynomially and rationally depend on a parameter has been investigated, the theorems of completeness and basic property have been proved, definitions of the best approximation of linear operators by finite-dimensional operators have been given, its exact expression has been found, multiple completeness of systems of elements in linear spaces have been defined and many solid theorems in this direction have been proved. Theorems of a new type have been proved on the completeness and basis property of a system of eigenelements and associated elements in Banach and Hilbert spaces. Necessary and sufficient conditions for closability, boundedness, and complete continuity of operators in multiplicator terms have been found. The most important results have been obtained for an approximate solution of the problem of eigenvalues of operators. The concept of optimal biorthogonal systems in Banach spaces has een given. A new class of linear abstract operators between the classes of continuous and completely continuous operators is defined and this class has been thoroughly studied. The concepts of the main numbers and the main elements of the operators included in this class have been included. It has been proved that the system of principal numbers satisfies the “mini-max” property of the eigenvalues of completely continuous operators.
