The next report meeting was held at the Presidium

On January 13, a meeting of the Presidium of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences was held on the results of scientific and scientific-organizational activities of the departments of Earth, Biological and Medical Sciences, as well as Lankaran and Sheki Regional Scientific Centers in 2020.
The event was attended by the President of ANAS, Academician Ramiz Mehdiyev and members of the Presidium, directors of the enterprises whose reports were submitted, heads of departments and divisions of the staff.
Opening the meeting, academician Ramiz Mehdiyev informed the participants about the issues on the agenda of the meeting.
The first issue raised at the meeting of the Presidium was about the scientific and scientific-organizational activities of the Department of Earth Sciences of ANAS in 2020.
Speaking on the subject, the vice-president of ANAS, chairman of the Scientific Council of the department, academician Ibrahim Guliyev said that in the reporting year the activity of the department was “Azerbaijan 2020: vision for the future” Development Concept, “State Program on industrial development in the Republic of Azerbaijan for 2015-2020”, “Development Concept of ANAS until 2020”, as well as the decision of the Presidium "On the Action Plan of ANAS on implementation of tasks in strategic roadmaps on key sectors of the economy of the Republic of Azerbaijan” were taken as a basis and a number of important results were obtained.
Academician Ibrahim Guliyev said that 223 articles were published in the department in the reporting year, including 100 abroad, 61 in impact factor journals, and 33 theses, 13 of which were abroad.
The report also provides information on the state of e-science in the Department of Earth Sciences, grant projects, integration of science and education, international relations and laboratories, conferences, seminars and anniversaries, awards, scientific research expedition.
Then the report on the scientific and scientific-organizational activity of the Department of Biological and Medical Sciences of ANAS in 2020 was heard. Presenting the report, Vice-President of ANAS, Chairman of the Scientific Council of the department, academician Irada Huseynova said that last year the department carried out important work within the decrees and orders of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, decisions and orders of the Cabinet of Ministers, as well as state programs and decisions of the Presidium of ANAS.
Other issues on the agenda of the meeting were the scientific and scientific-organizational activities of Lankaran Regional and Sheki Regional Scientific Centers of ANAS in 2020. Director of Lankaran Regional Scientific Center, Doctor of Agrarian Sciences Farman Guliyev and Director of Sheki Regional Scientific Center, Doctor of Philosophy in Physics Yusif Shukurlu presented the reports of the enterprises.
Academician-secretary of ANAS, academician Adil Garibov, vice-president of ANAS, academician Rasim Alguliyev, academician Akif Alizade, academician Ramiz Mammadov, corresponding member Gurban Yetirmishli and others spoke at the discussions on the submitted reports and expressed their proposals and opinions.
President of ANAS, academician Ramiz Mehdiyev gave recommendations and instructions to the heads of enterprises to work in close cooperation with relevant government agencies on relevant issues to achieve the application of scientific research.
