The oldest human DNA found in the world belongs to a woman who lived in modern-day Czech Republic 45,000 years ago. Researchers at the Max Planck Institute for Human History in Germany have come to this conclusion after analyzing a woman's skull.
The article was published in the journal “Nature Ecology and Evolution”.
The study revealed that the woman belonged to the first group of "Homo sapiens", which migrated from Africa to Europe. The "Neanderthals" are believed to be his fifth or sixth generation ancestors.
According to the authors, the DNA of this woman is not found in people who later lived in Europe or Asia.
