The meeting of the Science Council of the Institute of Control Systems was held
18.03.2022 /On March 17, 2021, the Science Council of the Institute of Control Systems (ICS) of ANAS held a meeting devoted to the Science Day March 27. The event was attended by the administration of the institute, council members and other employees.
Opening the meeting, General Director of ICS, Chairman of the Science Council Academician Ali Abbasov congratulated the participants of the event on the upcoming Novruz Holiday and the Science Day. Speaking about the significance of this remarkable day, the scientist said that the establishment of Science Day March 27 in Azerbaijan by President Ilham Aliyev's decree of April 9, 2018 is one of the vivid examples of state-level support for science. The academician noted that Science Day, which has a special significance in the context of the day of the establishment of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences, is celebrated as a holiday of the scientific community of Azerbaijan as a whole.
After familiarizing the members of the Science Council with the issues on the agenda, A. Abbasov gave the floor to the Executive Director of the ICS, Corresponding Member of ANAS Aminaga Sadigov.
In his speech on popularization of science and its role in society, A. Sadigov talked about the history of the Science Day in Azerbaijan, the work carried out in the area of making scientific achievements known to the public. He said that the main goal of establishing this remarkable day is to increase the role of science at international and national levels, and to raise the prestige of scientists. The scientist spoke about the nationwide events, various forums and seminars held in Azerbaijan in recent years in this area. He pointed out that the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences played a leading role in the organization and implementation of these events.
A. Sadigov emphasized the role of scientists in the creation of a developed and sustainable society. He said that the decrees and orders aimed at promotion of science, acceleration of its integration into international scientific community, adopted recently in Azerbaijan, prove once again that development of science and education in Azerbaijan is one of the priorities of the state policy. He described the steps taken at state level towards preservation of scientific and technical potential, training of highly qualified personnel, increasing role of science workers in the society as special attention and care consistently shown by President Ilham Aliyev to development of science.
Speaking of development of science in various fields, fundamental researches conducted, A. Sadigov said that modern science and technology are mainly focused on increase of efficiency of use of productive forces, conservation of raw materials and energy resources, use of new technologies facilitating labor. And the further development of science will be aimed at creating highest technologies that can be applied in all areas of production, economy, public life, ecology, healthcare and education.
Then A. Abbasov gave detailed information about the changes in the composition of the Science Council of the Institute of Control Systems, introduced the new members of the Council to the participants of the event, and the composition of the Council was validated by voting.
Speaking on another issue of the agenda of the Science Council meeting, namely, rewarding the employees of the Institute of Control Systems based on the results of their activities in 2021, A. Sadigov stressed the importance of creating a healthy competitive environment and further encouragement of productive scientists. He presented to the Academic Council the employees of laboratories selected on the basis of indicators of assessment of scientific activity, the relevant decisions were made.
Then, speaking on the next issue of the agenda, Asif Rzayev, Doctor of Engineering, informed the members of the council about the doctoral program in the general discipline "Fundamentals of Technology" for PhD and Doctor of Science candidates who have no higher education in the field of technology. Questions on the topic were voiced, discussions were held and the program was approved.
At the end, the General Director of the Institute Academician Ali Abbasov summed up the meeting and gave certain instructions and recommendations on the implementation of the main objectives for the future.
