Institute of Control Systems hosted a master class
12.04.2023 /The master class "Challenges of IV industrial revolution: digital transformation and risks in control" with the participation of Corresponding Member of ANAS, Professor Aminaga Sadigov was held at the Institute of Control Systems on April 10, 2023 at 15:00 on the initiative of Center for the Development of Children and Youth No. 5 of the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan, with the organization of the Institute of Control Systems (ICS) and the Council of Young Scientists and Specialists of the Institute of Mathematics and Mechanics.
The event was attended by the administration of the Institute, the management of Center for the Development of Children and Youth No. 5, teachers and students, including students of schools No. 18, 45, 118, 138, 172, 238, 280 and 189-190, young scientists and specialists of institutions of physical, mathematical and technical profile of the Ministry of Science and Education, master students, doctoral students, students studying in SABAH groups of the Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University.
Opening the event, General Director of ICS, Academician Ali Abbasov informed the participants of the event about the history, scientific and organizational activities of his institution, important achievements and ties of cooperation. Speaking about attracting young people to relevant areas of science and development of human resources, the scientist stressed the importance of holding such events and wished them a successful event.
Then the Director of the Center for the Development of Children and Youth No. 5 Elza Orujova thanked the leadership of the institute for their special attention in the organization of the event, spoke about the activities of the center, its achievements and goals for the future.
Then a master class on "Challenges of the IV industrial revolution: digital transformation and risks in control" was held under the guidance of Aminaga Sadigov, Executive Director of ICS, Corresponding Member of ANAS. Reviewing the history of the industrial revolutions that have occurred so far, the scientist spoke in detail about their characteristics, their impact on the development of various branches of technical science and production and their results.
Speaking about the IV industrial revolution observed with mass introduction of cyber-physical systems into the field of production and services and increasing competitiveness of the manufacturing industry, A. Sadigov spoke about digital technologies, the driving force behind the revolution. Noting that smart digital technologies are prompting governments and companies to rethink their business and business style, international and local relations, the scientist said that the modern industrial revolution is manifested in the growing symbiosis of industrial and technological innovation.
Pointing out that the Fourth Industrial Revolution was characterized not by the growth of production, but by its productivity, flexibility and individualization, A. Sadigov emphasized that the revolution had led to fundamental changes in production processes, and spoke about the possibility of changing not only technological innovations, but also the social paradigm and the cultural code. Speaking about artificial intelligence, autonomous robots, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV), cloud computing, information security, and other technologies of the 4th industrial revolution, the scientist talked about the existing obstacles and risks in the course of the revolution.
Stressing that digital transformation is one of the priorities in Azerbaijan, A. Sadigov noted that consistent reforms are underway in the region to turn the country into a digital hub. He said that digital initiatives such as development of broadband Internet, "Government Cloud," "Big Data," "Smart City" and "Smart Village", which form the basis of digital infrastructure, are being implemented. Speaking of the state policy on improving governance in the field of digital transformation in the country, A. Sadigov said that telecommunications technologies are rapidly spreading into all spheres of society, creating great opportunities for development. The scientist also spoke about the benefits of digital transformation, its role in education, and the current risks and solutions in the relevant area.
At the end of his speech, A. Sadigov, who shared with young people his recommendations for learning specialties and professions that meet the challenges of today and the future, and training as highly qualified scientific personnel, wished the Center for the Development of Children and Youth No. 5 new successes in its activities. The event concluded with an exchange of views around his presentation, which was met with great interest by the participants, and a Q&A session.
