The Memorial Day of the tragedy of 20 January, 1990, the heroic page in the history of struggle for freedom and territorial integrity of Azerbaijan, was marked at the Cybernetics Institute on 16 January, 2013. Director of the Cybernetics Institute Academician T.A. Aliev, Corresponding Member of ANAS A.H. Hajiyev, Prof. M.A. Guliyev, Assoc. I.G. Mamedov and others spoke at the meeting about the events of the massacre of January 1990 that they had witnesses. The speakers said that even the tragedy of the Bloody January could not break the will of the Azerbaijani people in the struggle for national freedom. Sons of the Motherland, who gave their lives away that night, wrote a shining page into the book of history of Azerbaijan and paved the way to the national freedom and independence. No matter how many years may pass after those bloody events, our people will always remember that terrible night and express their contempt and hatred for those who committed that crime. Blood of our people will always live in our memory. January the 20th is marked every year by the employees of the Institute as the nation-wide mourning day.
