I Spartakiad between the institutes of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences organized by the Independent Trade Union the took place at the Institute of Physics on 19 September—7 October. The Institute of Control Systems was successfully represented by: in chess – Yegana Ashrafova, Dr. Marat Jafarov, Ulviya Idrisova, doctoral candidate, Rasim Melikov, senior researcher; in checkers – Sevinj Babayeva, researcher, Shahin Bakhshiyev, senior researcher; in football – Anar Abdullayev, programmer engineer, Bakhram Suleymanli, programmer engineer, Kamil Jabiyev, programmer engineer, Emil Abilov, programmer engineer, Eldost Akhmedov, Turaj Musayev, junior researcher, Gorkhmaz Hasanli, laboratory assistant, Elnur Veliyev, programmer engineer, Ziya Khudiyev, technician, Zaur Fataliyev, programmer engineer.

According to the results of the games, Yegana Ashrafova took the second place in chess among women, Shahim Bakhshiyev took the second place in checkers among men.
