Book co-authored by scientists of the Institute of Control Systems published by IntechOpen
26.04.2024 /Well-known British science publishing house IntechOpen has published a book “Advances in Oil and Gas Well Engineering” in London. The book contains a chapter written as a result of research by scientists of the Institute of Control Systems of the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
The co-authors of the chapter titled “Technologies and system for signaling the beginning of accidents on drilling rigs based on the wattmeter charts of their electric motors” are Advisor of ANAS Academician Telman Aliev, Associate Professor Asif Rzayev, Doctor of Engineering, Associate Professor Farhad Pashayev, Doctor of Engineering, and Gambar Guluyev, Doctor of Engineering.
The chapter notes that nowadays very sophisticated technologies of oil and gas production are applied in the process of drilling, as oil and gas fields are located in considerably deep areas of oceans and seas. But drilling accidents can lead to environmental problems as well as property damage. The control and management systems being developed to address this problem are being improved using artificial intelligence and other technologies, and new methods are being proposed.
In their chapter of the book, the authors also propose the project “System for detecting the hidden period of the beginning of accidents and alerting the drilling master”. The application possibilities of the considered system are real and extremely useful.
Note that the book edited by Yongcun Feng is indexed in the Web of Science (WoS) database.
