"The role of higher education in innovation" workshop was held

On 30 November 2017, "The Role of Higher Education in Innovation" workshop was held at the Center for Analysis of Economic Reforms and Communication of the Azerbaijan Republic (AERCAR) with the support of the World Bank.

The opening speeches were delivered by the CEO of AERCAR Dr. Vusal Gasimli and the head of the World Bank Mission Igor Heifetz.

World Bank expert Ivona Barovik made a presentation that covered the role of higher education in innovation in three areas:

* Consideration of global trends in the financing of research;

* Consideration of global trends of an enabling environment for technology transfer in Azerbaijan;

* Development of skills, encouragement of entrepreneurship and management of the innovation system.

Tofig Babayev, Head of the Foreign Relations and Innovations Department of the Institute of Control Systems of ANAS, took part in the discussions on the presentations.
