First congress of Young Scientists of Azerbaijan took place
15.12.2017 / Conferences, assemblies The First Congress of Young Scientists of Azerbaijan was held at the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences on 15 December with the joint organizational support of ANAS, the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Youth and Sports. First of all, the participants of the event honored the memory of the national leader Heydar Aliyev in the Alley of Honor and laid flowers on his grave.
Then the guests got acquainted with the exhibition, consisting of scientific achievements by young scientists of Azerbaijan in recent years. Video content reflecting the activities of the youth was demonstrated on the main monitor of the exhibition. Participants of the event who visited the stands allocated for institutes and organizations, regional scientific departments and centers of ANAS, as well as higher educational institutions of the republic, received detailed information about the research carried out by young scientists, their innovative projects and scientific results.
Opening the congress, the President of ANAS, Academician Akif Alizade noted that the event was organized in accordance with the State Program "Azerbaijani Youth in 2017-2021", approved by the Order of President Ilham Aliyev on 15 September 2017. Speaking about the significance of the event, Academician Akif Alizade expressed his confidence that the Congress would contribute to the fulfillment of the tasks stipulated in the program related to intellectual youth.
Head of the Presidential Administration, academician Ramiz Mehdiyev read a congratulatory letter of President Ilham Aliyev to participants of the congress.
Minister of Youth and Sports Azad Rahimov, acting Minister of Education Jeyhun Bayramov, Head of the Department of Historical and Architectural Reserve "Icheri Sheher" Asker Alekperov, Chairman of the Council of Young Scientists and Specialists of ANAS Associate Professor Famin Salmanov , PhD in Physics, and others spoke at the Congress.
Next, it was proposed to create a working body for the preparation of the draft declaration of the Congress. Representatives of the Congress approved the composition of the credentials committee and the secretariat of the Congress.
Then the Declaration of the First Congress of Young Scientists of Azerbaijan was adopted.
In conclusion, the chair of the Council of Young Scientists and Specialists of the Nizami Institute of Literature of ANAS Associate Professor Eshgan Babayeva, PhD in Philology, voiced the appeal of the Congress participants to the President of the Azerbaijan Republic Ilham Aliyev.
A dissertationist of the Institute of Control Systems of ANAS Sayara Gidayatzade, Jabiyeva Shams and Master’s degree students Nigar Alishova and Lamiya Nadafova, also attended the Congress.
