Scientific results dissertationist of the ICS were implemented in FAO

Elkhan Aliyev, a PhD dissertationist of the ICS and an officer of the FAO Strategic Planning Office, completed his thesis “Development of methods and models of effective cost management in relation to the support and maintenance of investment projects within the framework of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations”. His thesis proposes a new, effective method to recover the costs of the projects implemented with the support of FAO.

The new method has been tested at FAO with positive results. The change in the FAO cost recovery policy has been announced.

Elkhan Aliyev made a presentation on the improvement of the FAO cost recovery policy on the 31st meeting of the UN Financial and Budget Network in Vienna on 12-13 June 2018. The new method has been welcomed and implemented by the Finance and Budget representatives of relevant UN agencies. The detailed information was posted on the FAO Intranet on 28 November 2018.
