A scientific seminar on "Participation of Azerbaijani scientists in the European Union Horizon 2020 Research and Innovation Program" was held

A scientific seminar on "Participation of Azerbaijani scientists in the European Union Horizon 2020 Research and Innovation Program" took place at the Azerbaijan State University of Economics (UNEC) on 7 June 2019. The seminar was attended by young English-speaking researchers, professors and teachers of the University, Yashar Omarov, NCP Marie Sklodowska-Curie actions, Ministry of Education of Azerbaijan, Rufat Efendiyev, NCP Access to finance, Institute of Economics of ANAS.
At the seminar held with the support of the Office of International Relations of ANAS, Head of the Department of Foreign Relations and Innovation, Legal & Financial NCP of the European Union Horizon 2020 Research and Innovation Program and national eTrade expert of the EU HDM Initiatives project Tofig Babayev made a presentation on the HORIZON 2020 Program. In his presentation, T. Babayev told the participants about the history of the EU's Research Framework Programs, EU's EUROPE 2020 Strategy, components of the HORIZON 2020 Program, the procedures of researchers' participation and registration in the program, search for project tenders, types of projects, and creating a consortium.
T. Babayev told about the possibilities for Azerbaijani scientists to participate in the ICT Proposers’ Day 2019 conference, which will be held in Helsinki on September 19-20, 2019.
Information was also given on HORIZON EUROPE, the new framework program for 2021-2027.

During the presentation, the participants received particularly detailed information on the opportunities of participation of Azerbaijani scientists and researchers in HORIZON 2020.
Discussions were held around the presentation and T. Babayev answered the participants' questions.
