Academician Asaf Hajiyev took part in 3rd conference of the Caucasian Mathematical Society
29.08.2019 / Conferences, assembliesThe 3rd conference of the Caucasian Mathematical Society took place in at the Southern Federal University in Rostov, Russia, on 26-29 August 2019. The conference was organized with the support of the European Mathematical Society and attended by about 70 mathematicians from 10 countries (Germany, Italy, Norway, Russia, Turkey, Georgia, etc.).
Academician Asaf Hajiyev delivered a plenary lecture on the topic “Paradoxical consequences of probability theory”. Young mathematicians from different countries were also invited to the conference. Presentations were made by young Azerbaijani mathematicians Samid Malik (Baku Higher Oil School) and Ali Hamidoglu (doctoral student at Istanbul Technical University).
During the conference, A. Hajiyev met with the President of the European Mathematical Society Professor Volker Mermann. The issues discussed at the meeting included cooperation between the Azerbaijan Mathematical Society and the European Mathematical Society and the membership of the Azerbaijan Mathematical Society in this organization.
