Secretary General of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation Organization (BSEC), Academician Asaf Hajiyev, was elected a foreign member of the National Academy of Sciences of Georgia by the resolution of the Academy dated July 23, 2025.

 

The world-renowned mathematician A. Gedjiev was awarded this title for his exceptional contributions to the development of scientific ties between Azerbaijan and Georgia, as well as for his significant contribution to the development of mathematical science. The membership diploma will be presented to the academician at an expanded meeting of the scientific organization.

 

Note that A. Hajiyev was elected honorary professor of the World Academy of Sciences in 2005, the National Academy of Sciences of Mongolia in 2008, the Academy of Sciences of Moldova in 2016, and Chengdu University in China in 2011. In 1988, he was elected a member of the Bernoulli Society for Probability Theory and Mathematical Statistics, and in 2005, a member of the International Statistical Institute.
