Mass vaccination against coronavirus may begin in mid-2021. This was stated by the deputy head of the World Health Organization (WHO) Sumiya Swaminathan, Deutshce Welle reports.

"Currently, more than 20 vaccine candidates are in clinical trials," she said, adding that there is hope for the effectiveness of some of them.

So, the results can be obtained as early as next year, and closer to the middle of 2021, the issue of mass vaccination of the population may be decided.

Swaminathan also noted that the fact that antibodies to the virus may disappear after a while is not evidence of the complete absence of acquired immunity.
