A meeting of the Science Council of the Institute of Control Systems was held

A regular meeting of the Science Council of the Institute of Control Systems (ICS) of ANAS was held online on 23 April 2021. The event was attended by the administration of the institute, council members, all heads of departments and laboratories and invited guests.

Opening the meeting, General Director of the Institute Academician Ali Abbasov informed the participants about the issues on the agenda. A. Abbasov gave the floor to the Executive Director of the Institute, Corresponding Member of ANAS Aminaga Sadigov to inform the audience about admission to the doctoral and dissertation programs of the Institute, which was the first issue on the agenda.

Aminaga Sadigov noted that, as every year, admission to the doctoral and dissertation programs  of ICS for the degrees of Doctor of Science and Doctor of Philosophy was carried out. A. Sadigov informed the participants in detail about the allocated places in doctoral and dissertation programs, exams and admission results. It was followed by a discussion on the topic and appropriate decisions were made.

The next issue on the agenda was the organization and holding of the 70th anniversary of the Full Member of ANAS, outstanding scientist Asaf Hajiyev. Talking about A. Hajiyev's work, A. Abbasov noted that he is one of the scientists who made an important contribution to world science in general. He spoke about Asaf Hajiyev's innovations in the science and statehood of Azerbaijan, congratulated the scientist on his 70th birthday and wished him success in his future endeavors.

Then Head of Laboratory of the institute, Yasin Rustamov, DSc(Eng), speaking about his life and achievements, noted that Asaf Hajiyev is one of the scientists who played an important role in the scientific and socio-political life of the country and successfully represented Azerbaijan abroad.

Further, MD. Rovshan Aliyev congratulated the full member of ANAS Asaf Hajiyev on his 70th birthday and noted that he is a great scientist, public and political figure. He spoke about Asaf Hajiyev's school of probability theory and about the personnel that he trained in this field. R. Aliyev told the participants about the important scientific results and achievements of the scientist and shared his memories of him.

Speaking at the event, the advisor of ANAS, Academician Telman Aliev said that A. Hajiyev is not only a great scientist, but also an patriotic intellectual who loves and cares about his people. He spoke about the important role that A. Hajiyev played in the work of ICS and congratulated him on his anniversary, wishing him good health and new achievements.

Then Corresponding Member of ANAS Aminaga Sadigov and Ilgar Mammadov, DSc(Math), also spoke about Asaf Hajiyev as a prominent scientist, noble man and influential intellectual and wished him all the best on his anniversary.

Further, Academician Asaf Hajiyev spoke about his path in science, stressing that ICS played a special role in his life, and thanked the administration of the institute and the participants of the event.

At the end of the meeting, the Science Council made a decision to submit a petition to the Division of Physical, Mathematical and Technical Sciences of ANAS to hold the anniversary of Academician Asaf Hajiyev at a high level.
