A regular scientific seminar of the Institute of Control Systems was held
08.06.2021 / Conferences, assembliesA regular scientific seminar of the Institute of Control Systems (ICS) of ANAS was held on 4 June 2021. The event was attended by the administration of the institute, scientists and specialists, invited guests, as well as young researchers of the institute.
Professor Eldar Shahbazov, DSc (Eng), Head of the Laboratory "Mathematical modeling of nanotechnologies application in oil industry", made a presentation on "Development
and application of scientific principles of nanotechnology in the oil industry of Azerbaijan".
Eldar Shahbazov noted that in accordance with the current situation with the increasing oil recovery factor, microbiological, thermal and physicochemical methods had been applied at the oil and gas fields of SOCAR over the past sixty years, which lead to the growth of the oil recovery factor. The factors that directly affect the increase in oil recovery were the occurrence of significant complications in wells and reservoirs during operation.
E. Shakhbazov noted that “the low impact and stress effect” had been developed on the basis of nano-thermohydrodynamics, and thus drilling had been developed to prevent sand plugs during the recovery of residual oil, nanocement and nanoconcrete, and informed the participants in detail about the results of these studies. He also spoke about the effects and results of obtaining nanocoatings using SOCAR's nanotechnologies.
E. Shakhbazov informed the participants of the seminar in detail about the development and results of application of nanocoatings in the recovery of residual oil, the use of nanosystems in oil and gas extraction, scientific and analytical studies carried out in different countries, the dynamics of the increase in the overhaul life of equipment as a result of the application of nanosystems against sand and salt deposits, the development of nanotechnologies, pointing out a number of important nuances.
Then the speaker answered the questions of the participants, and discussions on the topic were held. General Director of ICS Academician Ali Abbasov, Corresponding Member of ANAS Kamil Aydazade, Fakhrad Pashayev, DSc (Eng), Gambar Guliyev, DSc (Eng), Associate Professor Asif Rzayev, DSc (Eng), Ilgar Mamedov, DSc (Math), and Associate Professor Alekper Akhundov, PhD (Math), took part in the discussions.
Then the Advisor of ANAS, Academician Telman Aliyev spoke about the importance of nanotechnology, this rather complex and relevant area, spoke about the use of nanotechnology in the oil industry in our country and the problems arising in this field. Highly appreciating the presented research, T. Aliyev expressed his views and suggestions on this matter.
Touching upon the importance of the topic presented, the Executive Director of ICS, Corresponding Member of ANAS Aminaga Sadigov pointed out the importance of the seminar in terms of determining the direction of research in this area. A. Sadigov spoke about the significant role of the ICS in this research, cooperation with other specialized agencies, the production of nanoproducts and the existing problems in this area.
Professor Tamilla Nasirova, DSc (Math), Ilgar Mamedov, DSc (Math), Gambar Guliyev, DSc (Eng), Associate Professor Alekper Akhundov, PhD (Math), and Associate Professor Kenul Omarova, PhD (Math), also praised the study, expressing their views and suggestions on the subject.
Then General Director of ICS Academician Ali Abbasov noted that improving the management of the oil production process using nanotechnology is one of the most relevant problems. A. Abbasov analyzed the opinions expressed regarding the report, pointed out the future research objectives and issues that need to be studied, and voiced his final opinion.
As a result, it was decided to step up the work of the laboratory "Mathematical modeling of nanotechnologies application in oil industry" and further expand the activities of ICS in the field of application of nanotechnology in the oil industry.
