A trilateral meeting was held at the Institute of Control Systems of Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences
17.09.2021 / Conferences, assembliesA trilateral meeting was held between the administration of the Institute of Control Systems (ICS) of ANAS, the Science Development Foundation under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan and representatives of the Islamic World Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (ICESCO), assisted by the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Azerbaijan, on 15 September 2021.
Opening the meeting, General Director of ICS academician Ali Abbasov told the participants about the important role of the Institute in the development of Azerbaijani science, the history of its establishment, its research work, important scientific achievements, human resources, international cooperation, and so on.
A. Abbasov stressed the significance of cooperation with Islamic countries, pointing out that Mehriban Aliyeva, First Vice President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, UNESCO and ICESCO Goodwill Ambassador, had made an important contribution to the development of science, to increasing the potential of youth, and building international cooperation in various fields.
Then Dr. Muhammad Sharif, Advisor of ICESCO for Sciences and Technology, spoke about the priorities of ICESCO policy in the field of science and education, joint cooperation programs, trainings in the field of science and technology, joint projects with leading universities of Azerbaijan, scholarship programs that provide modern education opportunities, opportunities for future cooperation with ICS. He also expressed his satisfaction with the visit to the institute and voiced his confidence in the development of cooperation in the field of technology, science, education and culture.
Then the Executive Director of the Science Development Foundation under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Mehriban Imanova informed the meeting participants about the main activities of the foundation, its grant projects, as well as projects with the involvement of foreign research and educational institutions and the results achieved. Then Mehriban Imanova proposed discussing a relevant cooperation agreement with ICESCO for the implementation of joint projects with member countries of the organization in the framework of international cooperation.
Then Professor Elchin Aliyev spoke about the issues of using the MEETADORE – first Azerbaijani made online video conferencing system, the electronic document management system and education management system developed by SINAM in collaboration with the Institute of Control Systems in the ICESCO member countries and made relevant proposals.
In conclusion, academician Ali Abbasov proposed developing research projects that can be jointly financed by the Institute of Control Systems, ICESCO, Science Development Foundation and SINAM, discussing them in these organizations and making relevant decisions.
