An event dedicated to the Remembrance Day was held at the Institute of Control Systems
27.09.2021 / Conferences, assembliesOn September 27, 2021, an event dedicated to the Remembrance Day was held at the Institute of Control Systems (ICS) of ANAS to honor the soldiers and officers who heroically fought in the 44-day Patriotic War, carried the Azerbaijani flag through the liberated lands, and sacrificed their lives for the preservation of territorial integrity country, and all martyrs of the war. The event was attended by the administration of the institute, heads of departments and laboratories, scientists and specialists.
Opening the event, General Director of ICS academician Ali Abbasov pointed out that September 27 is marked in the Republic of Azerbaijan as a "Remembrance Day" by the Decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev dated December 2, 2020, and invited the participants to watch a video about the historical moments of the 44-day Patriotic War, prepared by ICS employees.
Then A. Abbasov spoke in detail about the history of Karabakh, the ancient and eternal land of Azerbaijan, an integral part of our country, the difficult political period in the last century, the crimes of the despicable enemy, the First Karabakh war, as well as about the successful, victorious policy of the National Leader Heydar Aliyev and the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan , Supreme Commander-in-Chief, Mr. Ilham Aliyev.
Looking back at the course of the 44-day Patriotic War last year, A. Abbasov said that in response to the next military aggression of Armenia on September 27, 2020, the Armed Forces of the Republic of Azerbaijan under the leadership of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief had begun the Patriotic War with the aim of liberating the occupied territories. The soldiers and officers who showed courage in the struggle for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Republic of Azerbaijan demonstrated the unity and solidarity of the people and dealt crushing blows to the enemy as one whole, with a single fist. He pointed out that from the first day until the end of the war, the President, who successfully represented the country both in the military and in the political arena, had given interviews to numerous foreign media outlets, met with various international organizations, and stressed that many countries led by the brotherly Turkey had relayed the truthful voice of Azerbaijan to the world community. Speaking about the diplomatic struggle of Azerbaijan, A. Abbasov noted that the enemy, helpless in the face of the superiority of the victorious Azerbaijani army in the political and military arena, had repeatedly committed war crimes and violated international law, resorting to provocations and attacking innocent civilians.
Commenting on the reasons and the course of the conflict in the political, economic, informational and military areas, A. Abbasov said that the occupied lands had been liberated at the cost of the blood and lives of heroic martyrs, soldiers and officers, veterans. Referring to the statement signed by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia and the President of the Russian Federation on November 10, 2020, essentially the act of surrender of Armenia, the academician reminded that the complete victory of Azerbaijan after the triumph on the battlefield was that Aghdam, Kelbajar and Lachin areas were returned without a fight.
At 12:00, the participants of the event joined the country-wide minute of silence announced by the Decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev to honor the martyrs of the Patriotic War.
Then Corresponding Member of ANAS Gorkhmaz Imanov spoke, point out that as a result of the victory of the brave Azerbaijani army in the Second Karabakh War last year, the thirty years of suffering of the Azerbaijani people had come to an end, their native lands were liberated from enemy occupation at the cost of the blood of martyrs. Speaking about the political history of Karabakh, G. Imanov noted that the roots of the conflict go back to the last century, saying that the victory in the Patriotic War had dealt a crushing blow to the enemy. G. Imanov spoke with regret about the countless acts of destruction committed by the Armenian aggressors and shared his memories of Karabakh. At the end of his speech, G. Imanov mentioned the upcoming reconstruction work, touching upon the important role of information technologies, and pointed out that scientists of ANAS, including ICS, can take an active part in the work in this area.
Then Professor Knyaz Mammadov spoke about the successful policy founded by the National Leader Heydar Aliyev and continued by President Ilham Aliyev, as well as the achievements of Azerbaijan in these areas as a result of support and attention in the political sphere, sports, culture and art. Speaking of the importance of modern technology used during the war, K. Mammadov noted that Azerbaijan is an example for many countries in the use of military equipment in the building of the army. In conclusion, K. Mammadov shared his memories of Karabakh with the participants of the event.
Professor Ilgar Mammadov and Konul Omarova spoke about the significance of the Second Karabakh War and the achievements of the mighty Azerbaijani army. Konul Omarova presented to the participants of the event the article “Əş-Şəhid”, dedicated to the memory of all the martyrs of the war.
Then the employees of Sinam, the company that operates at the ICS on the basis of a cooperation agreement, who fought in the Patriotic War - Huseyn Akhund, who was awarded the Brave Warrior and For the Liberation of Sugovushan medals, and Tabriz Ismayilov, who was awarded the For the Liberation of Gubadly medal - spoke about the beginning, progress and daily successes of the Patriotic War. Emphasizing the difficulties inherent in the war, they pointed out the courage of the Azerbaijani army, the provocations of the despicable enemy and the unity of the people around the Supreme Commander and the army. The war veterans paid tribute to the martyrs who had sacrificed their lives for the freedom of our homeland, and expressed gratitude to the administration of the ICS for the invitation to the event.
At the end of the event, A. Abbasov honored the memory of the martyrs of the First and Second Karabakh wars, who courageously had given their lives for the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan, and asked God to bless them.
