Cooperation between the Institute of Control Systems of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences and the V.M. Glushkov Institute of Cybernetics of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine was discussed
06.01.2022 /Executive Director of the Institute of Control Systems of ANAS, Corresponding Member of ANAS Aminaga Sadigov was on a business trip to Kyiv, Ukraine, from from December 25 to December 30, 2021.
The main purpose of the visit was to solve a number of scientific and organizational issues related to the implementation of the cooperation agreement between the Institute of Control Systems of ANAS and Glushkov Institute of Cybernetics of NAS of Ukraine, signed on July 20, 2021, to discuss the results of joint research, as well as to prepare a joint research project.
А. Sadigov, who met with Vyacheslav Bogdanov, Vice President of the NAS of Ukraine during his visit, spoke about the liberation of occupied lands, the high level of training of our army, its weapons and military equipment based on modern technology, the role of science and scientists in the building of the army, the reforms and achievements of recent years at the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences, including the Institute of Control Systems of ANAS. He also gave detailed information on concrete steps taken to expand international ties and to integrate Azerbaijani science into the world science.
During the meeting Academician V. Bogdanov touched upon such important issues as the main areas of scientific research carried out at the NAS of Ukraine, the funding mechanisms used, innovative activities, personnel training and international relations, and stressed the need to develop the Azerbaijani-Ukrainian scientific relations.
Then Aminaga Sadigov met with Academician Alexander Khimich, member of the Presidium of NAS of Ukraine, Academician-Secretary of the Department of Informatics of NAS of Ukraine, Deputy Director for Research of the V.M. Glushkov Institute of Cybernetics. The meeting was also attended
by Sergey Yershov, Academic Secretary of the Glushkov Institute of Cybernetics, Doctor of Physics and Mathematics, and Petro Stetsyuk, coordinator of the agreement on cooperation between the Institute of Control Systems of ANAS and the Glushkov Institute of Cybernetics of the NAS of Ukraine, Head of Department of the Institute, Doctor of Physics and Mathematics.
During the meeting the need for continued cooperation between the two scientific institutions in the development of general control theory and methods, system analysis, mathematical modeling, optimization, and artificial intelligence, as well as the development of methods and tools for building intelligent control systems of various levels and purposes was emphasized, in order to develop and further expand existing scientific relations.
A number of scientific and scientific-organizational issues were also discussed, including joint research, personnel training, preparation and implementation of scientific projects, organization and holding of scientific conferences, as well as increasing rating of scientific journals, exchange of scientific literature, admission of young researchers for short- and long-term fellowships, etc.
Speaking about the Azerbaijani-Ukrainian scientific ties, including the cooperation between the Glushkov Institute of Cybernetics of NAS of Ukraine and the Institute of Control Systems of ANAS, Academician A.N. Khimich noted that they attached great importance to this cooperation. He especially emphasized that Azerbaijani scientists are represented in the editorial boards of scientific journals of the Institute, a large number of their articles have been published, they also act as reviewers. At the same time, Academician Khimich noted the inadequate level of cooperation in international projects and, therefore, the importance of increasing attention to this field.
Sergey Yershov, Academic Secretary of the Institute, Doctor of Physics and Mathematics, reported that all scientific and organizational issues related to the execution of the agreement on cooperation were regularly coordinated and solved by the parties. Petro Stetsyuk, Head of Department of the Institute, Doctor of Physics and Mathematics, reported that the plan of measures for the implementation of the cooperation agreement had been prepared and was being consistently implemented.
