An event on "Azerbaijani Realities in Wikipedia" was held

An event on "Azerbaijani Realities in Wikipedia" organized by the New Azerbaijan Party (NAP) Yasamal district organization and the Gorgud Wikipedia Methodical Club was held on December 28, 2021.

First, a moment of silence was observed in memory of the martyrs who died for our homeland and in memory of the National Leader Heydar Aliyev.

Opening the event, Bakhtiyar Nabiyev, chair of the Yasamal district branch of the New Azerbaijan Party, said that Azerbaijan has a rich cultural heritage that combines Eastern and Western cultures. Regular trainings of this kind are of special importance in terms of getting  Azerbaijani realities across to the world and protecting its rich heritage.

Then MP Elnur Allahverdiyev spoke about the Armenian falsification of toponyms in the Azerbaijani territories and stressed the importance of Azerbaijan's recognition in the world. He said that every Azerbaijani must fulfill his duty to the Motherland. From this point of view, the activity of young people in the information field is of special importance. Pointing out that the volunteer movement is widespread in Azerbaijan, Allahverdiyev said that forums such as Gorgud are a good intellectual platform.

Volunteer Aykhan Ziyadzadeh spoke about the importance of Wikipedia in the recognition of Azerbaijan, the Gorgud Wikipedia Methodical Club, the activities of the free encyclopedia in 2021.

Afterwards, honorary diplomas were presented to the young people who actively participated in the training.

Then MPs Ramin Hasan and Nagif Hamzayev spoke about the importance of information about Azerbaijan in Wikipedia, the activities of the club and the importance of supporting young people in these trainings.

The event was also attended by the chair of the Council of Young Scientists and Specialists of the Institute of Controle Systems of ANAS researcher Lamiya Najafova.
