An event dedicated to the International Women's Day, March 8, was held at the Institute of Control Systems (IСЫ) of ANAS. It was organized by the trade union organization and the Council of Women.

Opening the event , Academician Ali Abbasov, General Director of the ICS told the participants about the history of this remarkable day, the role of women in the society and the high position of women. He said that Azerbaijani women have always been known for their intelligence, wisdom, loyalty, heroism, strong maternal virtues. Women have played a great role in forming and developing the spiritual values of the Azerbaijani people, who have given the world culture rare pearls. The names of many women who contributed to the development of Azerbaijan in various spheres are written with golden letters in the pages of the rich history of the country.

А. Abbasov stressed that modern Azerbaijani women are not only selfless mothers, but also professional scientists, capable politicians and state officials, who have gained the trust of people. This activity stems from the essence of the gender policy implemented in the country, creation of necessary conditions for them to enjoy all opportunities as equal members of society, along with the historical traditions that Azerbaijani women have. The scientist thanked the female employees of the Institute for their activity in development of the Institute in scientific and public spheres, wished them health, happiness and success in their further work.

At the end of the event, the participants were presented with awards.
