Researcher of ICS attended the International Conferences and the Summer School on Inverse Problems in Germany

An employee of the Institute of Control Systems of ANAS, the leading researcher, Assoc. Prof. Anar Rahimov took part in the two International Conferences and Summer School on Inverse Problems from 17 September to 30 September, 2015 in Germany. At first he took part in the International Workshop Recent Developments in Inverse Problems (www.wias-berlin.de/workshops/IPworkshop/) which was held on September 17-18, 2015 in Weierstrass Institute for Applied Analysis and Stochastics in Berlin.
Rahimov A.B. made the report entitled "Numerical solution to inverse problems for hyperbolic equation”. The report was interesting for the workshop participants, various questions were asked about the subject.
After the workshop, Rahimov A.B. took part in the Summer School on Inverse Problems (www.math.uni-muenster.de/ipschool2015/) organized at the University of Munster from 22 September to 25 September, 2015 in Munster, Germany.
This summer school considered the analytical and numerical treatment of inverse problems. The Summer School was organized for PhD students, postdocs and young scientists. 65 participants from various countries took part in the summer school. During the Summer School were organized 4 mini-courses on Inverse Problems and meeting with experts. The mini-courses consisted in a series of lectures by famous scientists on Inverse Problems - Prof. Thorsten Hohage (University of Göttingen, Germany), Prof. Guillaume Bal (Columbia University, USA), Prof. William Rundell (Texas A&M University, USA), Assoc. Prof. Michael Möller (Technical University of Munich, Germany). Lectures covered the topics Regularization of Statistical Inverse Problems and Applications; Variational Methods in Image Processing; Hybrid inverse problems and applications to elastography and Photo-acoustic tomography; Inverse spectral problems; Inverse problems with fractional derivatives.
After the Summer School, Rahimov A.B. took part in the First Applied Mathematics Symposium Munster: "Variational Methods for Dynamic Inverse Problems and Imaging” (www.math.uni-muenster.de/ipworkshop2015/) which was held on September 28-30, 2015 in the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science of Munster University.
The report aroused great interest on researchers from Germany, USA, Austria and Japan, various questions were asked.
A limited number of participants including A.B. Rahimov were selected based on competition and financially supported by the Organizing Committee for participating in the Summer School and Symposium in Munster.
