The Institute of Control Systems held an event dedicated to Remembrance Day September 27
27.09.2022 /On September 27, 2022, the Institute of Control Systems (ICS) held an event dedicated to Remembrance Day as a sign of deep respect for all martyrs, soldiers and officers who heroically fought in the 44-day Patriotic War and gave their lives for the territorial integrity of the country. The event was attended by the administration of the Institute, heads of departments and laboratories, scientists, and specialists.
A video dedicated to the historical moments of the 44-day Patriotic War, prepared by ICS employees, was shown at the event. A one-minute silence was observed in memory of the martyrs who bravely fought and sacrificed their lives for the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan.
Opening the meeting, General Director of the ICS, Academician Ali Abbasov said that by the decree of President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Mr. Ilham Aliyev dated December 2, 2020, September 27 is declared "Remembrance Day" in the Republic of Azerbaijan. The scientist noted that in response to yet another provocative military aggression started on September 27, 2020, the Armed Forces of Azerbaijan under the leadership of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief started a patriotic war for the liberation of the occupied lands.
A. Abbasov said that the soldiers and officers, who showed courage in the fight for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of our country, and the people as a whole, showing solidarity in the military, political, social and economic spheres and information space, dealt a crushing blow to the enemy. And the enemy, helpless before the superiority of Azerbaijan, resorting to provocations, targeting innocent civilians, repeatedly committed war crimes, tried to distort the facts, grossly violated international law.
Calling the Second Karabakh War simultaneously the Great Technological War written with the doctrines of the global Western policy, the scientist noted that the use of UAVs in combat operations is highly praised by domestic and foreign military experts. Commenting on the importance of military building in the socio-economic development of the country, A.Abbasov noted that the basis of the successful results achieved in the Western arena during the Patriotic War is modern technology that meets the requirements of the time.
Analyzing the Second Karabakh war from different aspects, A.Abbasov also talked about important scientific achievements of that period. Saying ICS scientists contributed to Azerbaijani science among many other institutes of the country, the academician talked about control of high technology-based dynamic objects, fuzzy decision making, artificial intelligence, control in emergency situations, new noise technologies in scientific signal theory and other scientific achievements of practical importance. A. Abbasov expressed his confidence that the research carried out at the Institute, reflecting the priorities of future development, the obtained fundamental scientific results will play a role in strengthening the military potential, and spoke about the new goals.
In conclusion, A. Abbasov noted that the 44-day Great Patriotic War was the most important victory in the life of Azerbaijani people in recent years, and emphasized that the liberation of the occupied lands was possible due to the far-sighted policy of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief and the determination of the Azerbaijani Army. As of October 21, 2022, 2908 killed soldiers and 100 civilians, 6 missing persons and 12 prisoners of war were recorded. A. Abbasov noted that the blessed memory of the martyrs who gave their lives for the homeland will always live in the hearts of every Azerbaijani and honored the memory of the martyrs.
Then Aminaga Sadigov, Executive Director of ICU, Corresponding Member of ANAS in his speech said that as a result of the victory of the Azerbaijani Army under the leadership of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief in the Patriotic War our ancestral lands were liberated from the enemy occupation and the thirty-year yearning was ended, the truth of Azerbaijan was proved in the international arena. A. Sadigov noted that leading political and military experts of the world highly assessed the victory of the Azerbaijani soldier, saying that in the Western world the Second Karabakh War was an example for advanced countries. Emphasizing the importance of the establishment of the Remembrance Day by the President of the country, the scientist pointed out that a number of events were held in different institutions of the country as a sign of respect for the blessed memory of those who fought in the war.
Soldiers and officers, who showed courage in the fight for sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Republic of Azerbaijan, and the whole nation demonstrated unity and solidarity by gathering like a fist around President Ilham Aliyev. Aminaga Sadigov touched upon the importance of development of the country in different fields, spoke about the tasks facing the youth. He mentioned that one of the priority issues is scientific development, increasing the potential of young personnel, cultivating patriotic sentiments in young people.
Saying that every Azerbaijani has a civic duty to the heroic sons of Azerbaijan who selflessly fought for their homeland, the scientist talked of great attention and care shown by the state to the families of martyrs and war veterans.
Then Associate Professor Mazahir Isayev, PhD in Engineering, Head of the Laboratory of Intelligent Information-Measuring Systems, spoke about the political history of Karabakh, pointing out that the roots of the conflict go back to the past centuries. He noted with regret the countless destructions committed by Armenian aggressors and shared his memories of Karabakh.
Stressing that the wartime had its difficulties, M. Isayev spoke about the valor of the Azerbaijani Army, the provocations of the hated enemy and the rallying of the people around the Supreme Commander-in-Chief and the army. Paying tribute to the martyrs who gave their lives for the freedom of the land, the scientist touched upon the importance of the development of the Republic of Azerbaijan, which distinguished itself among the advanced states of the world in various spheres, and spoke about the challenges ahead.
Then Narmin Abbaszade, Deputy Chair of the Council of Young Scientists and Specialists (CYSS) of ICS, spoke about the activities of young people in the Patriotic War and the challenges ahead. She noted that the enlistment of thousands of young people into the army in response to the call of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief is an embodiment of respect for national spiritual values, love for the motherland of the young generation in a globalizing world. Emphasizing that care and attention to the youth are the key components of state policy, N.Abbaszade noted the active role of the youth in the information war. She said that on the occasion of the Remembrance Day members of the CYSS visited the Alley of Martyrs and paid tribute to the memory of the fallen children of the Motherland.
Concluding the event, A.Abbasov paid respect to martyrs of the First and Second Karabakh wars who bravely fought for the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan and prayed to Allah to grant them peace.
