Event dedicated to National Youth Day February 2 was held at the Institute of Control Systems
02.02.2023 /An event devoted to the National Youth Day February 2 was held at the Institute of Control Systems (ICS) of the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan. The event was attended by the Institute's administration, members of the Council of Young Scientists and Specialists (CYSS), representatives of the departments of education and public relations and other employees.
The event was moderated by Head of the Public Relations Department of the Institute Aygun Aliyeva, PhD in Economics. Opening the event, A. Alieva congratulated the young scientists and specialists of the Institute on the National Youth Day and informed the participants about the issues on the agenda.
First, General Director of ICS, academician Ali Abbasov congratulated the young researchers on the National Youth Day on behalf of the administration of the institute. He said that raising sensible, educated and patriotic youth in Azerbaijan is one of priority directions of the state policy laid down by great leader Heydar Aliyev. The scientist noted that the First Forum of Azerbaijani Youth held on February 2, 1996 and establishing the National Youth Day February 2 by the decree of the head of state in 1997 is the manifestation of special care and attention given to the youth at the state level.
A. Abbasov said that the national leader's political course in this field is successfully continued today by President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and First Vice-President Mehriban Aliyeva. The academician recalled measures, orders and state programs implemented at present time for raising youth as highly qualified personnel, increasing their role in building the intellectual society, said all necessary conditions have been created now for more active involvement of youth in socio-political and cultural life of the country. A.Abbasov said significant achievements are being made by Azerbaijani youth in different fields not only in the country but also outside the country. Talking about youth's achievements in scientific, public-political, cultural and military spheres, the scientist said young soldiers and officers joining the army in response to the call of the country's leader during the Second Karabakh war and fighting for the territorial integrity of the country are the brightest examples of modern Azerbaijani youth.
Speaking of the practical measures taken at the institution led by him to attract young people to science, A.Abbasov wished the young people taking an active part in the development of Azerbaijani science, every success in future activities and offered his recommendations.
Then, junior researcher Lamya Najafova, Chair of CYSS of ICS, delivered a speech on "Youth as the driving force of science and education". She said young people, who are the leading force of the country, are now successfully working in various fields, successfully representing Azerbaijan in the world and gaining high achievements. Emphasizing the importance of representation of the youth in science, L.Najafova talked about comprehensive measures taken by leadership of the country to ensure they become highly qualified scientific personnel, take their deserved place in the society, zboug state programs, etc. She said the decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan of July 2, 2013 on the establishment of "Presidential Youth Award" for talented youth particularly distinguished for their social and socially-oriented efforts in the field of science, education and culture is an indicator of the government's care for youth.
Speaking about the projects implemented at ANAS in the area of increasing scientific potential of the youth, stimulating activities and scientific contests aimed at improving their socio-economic status, L.Najafova noted that establishment of Master level education at the Academy is of special importance in this regard. She gave detailed information on the work done in recent years at various scientific institutions towards establishment and development of student and youth organizations, councils of young scientists and specialists, solution of social problems of the youth, implementation of projects on international cooperation, organization of grant projects, holding of prestigious events, forums.
At the end of her speech, talking about the attention and care for young people at the ICS, L. Najafova thanked the administration of the Institute on behalf of the Council members and wished young people new scientific achievements.
Then the Project Manager of "Smart Village and Smart Education Solutions", implemented by the ICSU in joint cooperation with SINAM, Tural Mohsumzade gave detailed information on technological innovations successfully implemented in the village of Agali in Zangilan District, including the village management system, IoT software platform and sensors, situation center, software and hardware for smart education, e-medicine, etc. He noted that with the help of the "Smart School" application software platform, which includes management and monitoring of the educational process, delivery of educational content, it is possible to organize modern educational process, quickly and efficiently place educational content and deliver it to educational areas, conduct various methods of knowledge assessment and much more.
Speaking about the accounting system of the village, the infrastructure of optical Internet and smart poles, intelligent technologies in residential buildings and the Yurdum geographic information system, T.Mohsumzade noted that the Yurdum mobile application, developed on the basis of augmented reality technology, has been processed to display on a digital map of village objects and recognize their graphic images using the Machine learning artificial intelligence system.
Then junior researcher Rustam Azimov, Deputy Chair of CYSS, spoke about ways to engage young people in science on the basis of Karl Popper's science philosophy. He noted that the scientific method can stimulate discussions, turning discussions into a product not only in the technical sphere, but also in public and social life. R.Azimov talked about the importance of involving the youth in science, popularization of Azerbaijani science all over the world, involvement of the young generation in new researches in priority scientific spheres, about the problems to be solved in this field. Saying that the reason of the youth's departure from science is not limited to material factors, R.Azimov emphasized the importance of nurturing the young generation's interest in science, testing the effectiveness of scientific results and their practical application.
Ilgar Mammadov, Doctor of Mathematics, and researcher Sayyara Hidayatzade, who spoke at the event, talked about the special attention and care given to young people at the institute and wished the young scientists new successes in their scientific activities.
Then the young people distinguished by their scientific and social activities were awarded the Certificate of Merit of the Institute on the occasion of the National Youth Day February 2.
To conclude the event, a quiz "Know Our Institute" was held among the members of CYSSUS and the winners were awarded.
