Centennial anniversary of the patriarch of Azerbaijani science

This year marks the 100th birthday anniversary of Ismayil Ibrahimov, Doctor of Engineering, Full Member of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences, an outstanding Azerbaijani scientist, a founding father of such discipline cybernetics, computer science and control systems in Azerbaijan. When Prof. Ibrahimov was the rector of the Azerbaijan Institute of Oil and Chemistry (currently the Azerbaijan State University of Oil and Industry), the Institute became one of the most important educational institutions training oil industry workers in the USSR and foreign countries. Prof. Ibrahimov’s educational activity, his work at the Academy of Sciences and in the Cabinet of Ministers of Azerbaijan, his entire life is a striking example of loyal service to science and people. Today, Ismayil Ibrahimov is still watching over the Azerbaijani science – he heads the Problem Council for Control Systems and Computer Science. Professor was awarded "Sharaf” Order this year. The administration of the Institute of Control Systems headed by Director Academician Telman Aliev visited Prof. Ibrahimov at home to congratulate him on the upcoming anniversary, having also discussed the issues that the Problem Council will face in the new year.
