Employees of the Institute of Control Systems participated in an international conference
25.04.2023 /General director of the Institute of Control Systems (ICS) of the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan Academician Ali Abbasov and Head of the Department of International Relations and Innovation Tofig Babayev, PhD in Engineering, took part in the 2nd international scientific and technical conference "Railways: Problems, Solutions, Prospects", held in Tashkent on 20-23 April 2023, organized by the Ministry of Transport of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Tashkent State Transport University and Rail Transport Research Centre.
Speaking at the opening ceremony of the conference Academician A. Abbasov noted the close scientific and cultural relations between Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan and spoke about the bilateral ties of cooperation carried out in this direction between the Tashkent State Transport University and the Institute of Control Systems. Speaking on the importance of transport corridors in the modern era, the academician informed the audience about the 2nd International Conference on Problems of Logistics, Management and Operation in the East-West Transport Corridor (PLMO 2023), which will be held in Baku on 24-26 May 2023 in a hybrid form. A.Abbasov spoke about the National Digital Logistics Platform project created jointly by the said research institutions and wished the participants a successful conference.
At the plenary session of the conference T.Babayev made a presentation on "Modern approaches to digitalization of transport corridors in CAREC countries" (authors: Ali Abbasov, Tofig Babayev, Valery Virkovsky, Rustam Rahimov). T. Babayev also gave an interview to the state television of Uzbekistan.
There was an exchange of views between the Azerbaijani delegation and Mr. Jasurbek Choriyev, Deputy Minister of Transport of Uzbekistan, about the National Digital Logistic Platform project, jointly developed by the ICS and the Tashkent Transport University. The Deputy Minister stressed the importance of the cooperation with regard to this project and mentioned that his agency is interested in establishing cooperation relations with the ICS.
In addition, meetings were held regarding cooperation with representatives of more than 10 research organizations from different countries participating in the conference and dealing with issues of security and digitalization of transport corridors.
On the next day of the conference at the breakout session, T. Babayev spoke about the opportunities for participation in the transport corridors of HORIZON Europe. He held meetings with representatives of various local and foreign institutions and organizations and took part in discussions on bilateral scientific cooperation.
It should be noted that the participants of the conference, which was attended by more than 150 researchers from 14 foreign countries, also got acquainted with the sights of Tashkent and Bukhara.
