A meeting with the board of the Aerospace Information Research Institute of the Chinese Academy of Sciences was held at the Institute of Control Systems of the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

 

The meeting was attended by General Director of ICS academician Ali Abbasov, Executive Director Corresponding Member of ANAS Aminaga Sadigov, Head of International Relations and Innovation Department Tofig Babayev, PhD in Engineering, Head of Public Relations Department Aygun Aliyeva, PhD in Economics, Director of Remote Sensing Committee of the Aerospace Information Research Institute of Chinese Academy of Sciences Xingfa Gu, Executive Director Professor Liu Yongxue and staff.

 

Academician A. Abbasov first thanked the guests for their attention to the institute and spoke about the history of the institution he heads, the main areas of activity, such as theoretical and applied control problems, artificial intelligence technology and research of socio-economic systems, fundamental research conducted, important scientific results obtained.

 

Speaking about the concepts of "One Belt, One Road" and "Digital Silk Road", A.Abbasov touched upon the importance of digitalization in the region, and voiced proposals for the development of effective bilateral relations between the two research institutions.

 

Then the Director of the Remote Sensing Committee of the Aerospace Information Research Institute of the Chinese Academy of Sciences Xingfa Gu spoke, who spoke about the activities of the institution he heads and potential scientific research. Speaking about effective cooperation to be established with the ICS, the scientist voiced proposals on the use of remote sensing in Azerbaijan, reception, processing and use of information in the aerospace field, and conducting joint research in this direction.

 

Speaking of the aerospace research associated with obtaining necessary information about the Earth from space, Xingfa Gu expressed confidence that cooperation with the People's Republic of China would contribute to the development of this field in Azerbaijan as well. He expressed satisfaction with cooperation with a leading research institution such as the Institute of Control Systems and invited Academician Ali Abbasov to the People's Republic of China with a view to developing bilateral relations.

 

In conclusion, further prospects for the implementation of joint research between the two institutions were discussed.
