Proceedings of the VIII World Conference on Soft Computing dedicated to the 100th birthday and scientific heritage of Lotfi A. Zadeh, held at the Institute of Control Systems (ICS) on February 3-5, 2022, organized by the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences (ANAS), the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan, have been published by Springer under the title "Recent Developments and the New Directions of Research, Foundations, and Applications".

The publication, edited by General Director of ICS Academician Ali Abbasov, Full Member of the International Academy of Modern Sciences named after Lotfi A. Zadeh, Secretary General of the World Conferences on Soft Computing dedicated to the scientific heritage of Lotfi A. Zadeh Professor Shahnaz Shahbazova, Vice-President of the International Association of Fuzzy Systems Vladik Kreinovich, President of the Polish Academy of Sciences Janusz Kacprzyk, and Professor of the Institute of Systems Research, President of the Mexican Society of Artificial Intelligence, and Professor of the Institute of Systems Research Ildar Batyrshin, presents recent research in soft computing, fuzzy logic and fuzzy sets, uncertainty in cognition, neural networks, cognitive modeling and other areas..
