Professor Shahnaz Shahbazova, leading researcher of the laboratory of research of recognition problems with application of artificial intelligence methods of the Institute of Control Systems (ICS) of the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan, has been invited to speak at the 20th World Congress of the International Fuzzy Systems Association (IFSA 2023), which will be held in Daegu, South Korea, from August 20 to 23, 2023.

 

Prof. Sh. Shahbazova's paper describes the life and scientific heritage of Prof. Lotfi A. Zadeh, recounting his childhood in Baku, his life and first results of scientific work, as well as his scientific discoveries. The paper gives a detailed description of the collaborations between Prof. Lotfi A. Zadeh and other scientists (his teacher Norbert Wiener, Rudolf Kalman, Charles A. Desoer and others) and his scientific activities until the last stage of his life. The scientific activities of Lotfi A. Zadeh's followers during the 5 years after his death are also described.

 

The main goal of the congress is to bring together practitioners and scholars from all areas to discuss, demonstrate, and exchange research ideas within the scope of intelligence including fuzzy theory and its applications.
