On July 19, 2023 the invention of scientists of the Institute of Control Systems of the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of AR "Method of diagnostics of reservoir fluid leakage during operation of a sucker rod pump" was selected by the Eurasian Patent Office of the Eurasian Patent Organization as the patent of the month and was awarded the first place.

 

On July 19, 2023, the Eurasian Patent Office of the Eurasian Patent Organization issued a patent in the field of leakage-free production for the invention of scientists of the Institute of Control Systems (ICS) of the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

 

It is known that since prompt monitoring of the condition of deep well pumps at oil wells is a prerequisite for stable oil production, there is a veritable technological race in the field of improvement of equipment control methods. Most of the existing methods of equipment control are based on extensive and complex calculations, which require high costs, and then only approximate values of diagnostic parameters can be obtained with their help. The new invention of the scientists of the Institute of Control Systems of the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan "Method of diagnostics of reservoir fluid leakage during operation of a sucker rod pump", protected by the Eurasian patent, allows to maximally simplify the process of control over the condition of oil production equipment.

 

The proposed and patented method is based on a constant algorithm that allows for calculating reservoir fluid leakage based on measurements of the temperature at the wellhead, the pressure at the wellhead discharge line and the reservoir pressure. The developed method with its simplicity allows increasing the accuracy of diagnostic parameters measurement and does not require installation of additional complex equipment on pumping units. Leaks in the pumping unit of oil wells maintaining reservoir pressure can be detected by this method automatically.

 

The authors of the patent are General Director of ICS Academician Ali Abbasov, Professor Abbas Rzayev, Associate Professor Rena Asadova and Zafar Gurbanov, PhD in Engineering.
