Corresponding Member of ANAS Agasi Melikov delivered a plenary paper at an international conference
29.09.2023 /Head of the Laboratory of Modeling of Queuing-Inventory Systems of the Institute of Control Systems (ICS) of the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Corresponding Member of ANAS, Professor Agasi Melikov took part in the 26th International Conference on Distributed Computer and Communication Networks: Control, Computation, Communications (DCCN'2023), held in Moscow from September 25 to 29, 2023.
At the conference, which was held in a hybrid format, A. Melikov delivered the plenary paper "Numerical Study of Queuing-Inventory Systems with Catastrophes under Base Stock Policy". The paper investigates Markov-type queuing-inventory systems with infinite queues and a single server. The time of stock replenishment is a random variable, and besides positive requests in the system there are negative ones. The condition of ergodicity of such systems is determined and exact formulas for calculating their main characteristics are found. The paper presents and analyzes the results of numerical experiments conducted on the basis of the developed algorithms. The presentation raised the interest of the conference participants, and various questions on the topic were answered.
Note that this paper will be published in Springer Publishing Computer and Communications in Information Sciences. The co-authors of the paper are Laman Poladova, a junior researcher at ICS, and Edayapurath Sandhya, a staff member of Jyothi Engineering College, APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University.
The main objective of the international conference was to bring together representatives of research institutions, public and private sectors to discuss current scientific and practical problems in the theory and applications of distributed computing and communication networks, mathematical modeling, control and optimization methods for distributed systems.
