International Eastern Conference on Human-Computer Interaction (IECHCI2023) was held in hybrid form in Erzurum, Türkiye, on November 23-25, 2023. The conference was organized by Atatürk University, Azerbaijan State University of Economics, Sabancı University and Institute of Control Systems (ICS) of the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

 

In his speech at the event, Academician Ali Abbasov, General Director of ICS, talked about the research and improvements carried out at the ICS in the field of creating artificial intelligence application systems, including intelligent application programs, based on the natural language processing model, which plays a crucial role in the information processing process, and spoke about the cooperation relations established in this direction. Noting that language systems depend on the quality and exchange of the speech and text corpora in which they are trained, the academician said that since it is impossible to create large enough corpora for languages with small digital linguistic resources, problems arise in creating high-quality intelligent systems for information processing in less common languages. Speaking about the results obtained at the Institute together with Startup "Robotronics", A. Abbasov noted that a digital corpus of Azerbaijani language had been created containing 10,000 hours of speech, 300 million sentences of text, about 3 billion word forms, on the basis of which a chat-bot type system was developed and successfully implemented in call centers and public service sectors.
