Meeting with the Georgia State University (USA) Professor Dr. Bijan Fazlollahi

Head of laboratory of the Cybernetics Institute of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences, Corresponding Member of ANAS, Doctor of Economics Professor Akif Musayev was on a trip to the state of Georgia, USA, from 8 March to 26 March, 2013. During the trip, Professor met with the administration of the Georgia State University, its professors and other employees, including Director of Management Sciences Department Prof. Pamela S. Barr, Dean of Robinson Business College Prof. H. Fenwick Huss, Prof. Tad. D.Ransofer and others. A number of important issues were discussed at the meetings, such as impact of the Azerbaijan tax policy on economic growth, theoretical and practical issues of tax potential estimation. Among other things, long-term goals were established in expanding the cooperation with the first private higher education establishment in Azerbaijan, the Azerbaijan University with the purpose of developing the training of highly qualified up-to-date specialists in the field of finance and taxes and, accordingly, improving the level of education for Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in this field.

Cooperation was discussed with Prof. Bijan Fazlollahi, who came to Baku in May at Prof. Akif Musayev’s invitation, to speed up the work in this direction.
