An event devoted to the International Women's Day, March 8, was held at the Institute of Control Systems (ICS) of the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan. The event was attended by the administration of the institute, heads of departments and laboratories, young scientists and specialists.
Opening the event, General Director of the ICS, Academician Ali Abbasov spoke about the high position of Azerbaijani women in society in different periods of history. He noted that the successful implementation of projects, which serve our national interests and preserve our traditions, under the leadership of First Vice-President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Mehriban Aliyevais a vivid example of the charity and kindness of Azerbaijani women, their rich spiritual and high moral values. He said Azerbaijani women, who were granted the right to vote in the Muslim Orient before women in a number of advanced countries of the world, proved their progressive thought, innovation and progressive spirit.
Talking about our women scientists who played an important role in the development of Azerbaijani science, A.Abbasov thanked the female employees of the Institute for their contribution to the scientific and social development of the Institute, wished them good health, happiness and success in their future work.
Then Acting Executive Director of ICS Associate Professor Elkhan Sabziyev, DSc in Engineering, said in his speech that the Azerbaijani woman has always elevated the name of the nation with her intelligence, wisdom, devotion, high maternal qualities. E.Sabziyev noted that modern Azerbaijani women are not only selfless mothers, but also professional figures of science, talented politicians and public servants that have gained the people's confidence. This activity, along with historical traditions of Azerbaijani woman is a result of the gender policy pursued in the country, creation of necessary conditions for equal use of all opportunities as full members of society. E. Sabziyev congratulated the female employees of the Institute on this significant day and wished them happiness, success and new scientific achievements.
Then, Associate Professor Fakhrad Pashayev, DSc in Engineering, Ilgar Mammadov, DSc in Mathematics, Associate Professor Adalat Pashayev, PhD in Mathematics, Associate Professor Rena Asadova, PhD in Engineering, Associate Professor Alekper Akhundov, PhD in Mathematics, and Tofig Babayev, PhD in Engineering, took the floor, talking about the exceptional merits of Azerbaijani women, who distinguished themselves throughout history with their talents, intelligence, will, devotion to family and homeland, in preservation and conservation of our national and spiritual values, their important role in the development of science and education, and congratulated female employees of the Institute on International Women's Day.
В завершение мероприятия председатель профсоюзной организации ИСУ Захра Азизова и председатель Совета женщин доцент Рена Асадова вручили почетные грамоты женщинам, отличившимся в научной и общественной деятельности института.
In conclusion of the event, Zahra Azizova, Chair of the trade union organization of IСS, and Associate Professor Rena Asadova, Chair of the Women's Council, awarded certificates of merit to women who had distinguished themselves in scientific and social activities of the Institute.
