4th World Conference on Soft Computing

4th World Conference on Soft Computing was held from 25 to 27 May in Berkeley, CA (US). The conference was dedicated to the research legacy of the well-known Azerbaijani scientist Lotfi Zadeh, author of numerous scientific theories on Soft Computing. It opened with the speech of the Associate Professor of the Azerbaijan Technical University Sh. Shakhbazova. Prof. Shakhbazova told the audience about Lotfi Zadeh’s research activity. Asef Hajiyev, member of the Milli Majlis, Corresponding Member of ANAS, head of department of the Institute of Control System, familiarized the participants of the conference with the new website of the Academy named after Lotfi Zadeh and presented the scientist with a handmade carpet from Quba.
At the second session of the conference, A. Hajiev made a report devoted to paradoxes of the probability theory and showed the possibility of applying the obtained results for management of transportation systems.
Professor of the Azerbaijan State Economical University A. Kerimov, Professor of the Azerbaijan Technical University B. Ibrahimov, Associate Professor of the Azerbaijan State Economical University A. Quliyev also spoke at the conference.
Researchers from many countries, such as Belgium, Norway, USA, Canada, Mexico, Iran, Spain, took part in the conference.
