2nd International Conference “Information Technologies and their Application” (ITTA 2024) has kicked off
24.04.2024 /The opening ceremony of the 2nd International Conference “Information Technologies and their Application” (ITTA 2024) was held at the Azerbaijan University of Architecture and Construction (AUAC) on April 23, 2024. The conference was organized by the Ministry of Science and Education, AUAC, Institute of Control Systems of the Ministry of Science and Education, Institute of Information Technology, Bydgoszcz University of Science and Technology (Poland), Ege University (Türkiye), V.M. Glushkov Institute of Cybernetics (Ukraine) and Institute of Information and Computational Technologies (Kazakhstan).
Rector of AUAC, Prof. Gulchohra Mammadova, who opened the conference with a welcoming speech, touched upon the practical significance of the conference and noted that in the modern period of rapid socio-economic and technological development one of the priorities is the development of information technologies and elimination of existing problems in this field. Prof. Mammadova emphasized that our age is the age of information and communication technologies (ICT) and that due to the rapid development of science and technology, IT technologies, scientific and practical innovations are rapidly integrated into our lives.
Noting that development of information technologies in Azerbaijan is one of the priority directions arising from the decree of head of state Ilham Aliyev on approval of the documents “Azerbaijan 2030: National Priorities of Socio-Economic Development” and “Strategy of Socio-Economic Development of the Republic of Azerbaijan for 2022-2026”, G.Mammadova talked of practical actions carried out in this field. Talking about the history of the Department of Information Technologies and Systems of the Azerbaijan Architecture and Construction University, which is engaged in the development of information technologies and involvement of youth in this sphere, the scientist thanked the world-known scientist, Advisor of ANAS, Academician Telman Aliev for his contribution to the development of the Department.
The Rector noted that the materials submitted to the conference will be published by Springer. Thanking the co-organizers for their support at the end of her speech, G. Mammadova expressed confidence that holding joint discussions with scientists of the world will make an important contribution to the development of information technologies and wished the conference success.
The opening speeches continued under moderation of Professor Nigar Aslanova, Vice-Rector for Science and Innovation of the University. The speakers were First Vice-President of ANAS, General Director of the Institute of Physics of the Ministry of Science and Education, Academician Arif Hashimov, Deputy Minister of Digital Development and Transport Samir Mammadov, Deputy Director of the State Agency for Education and Science Aminaga Sadigov, Director of the Institute of Mathematics and Mechanics of the Ministry of Science and Education, Corresponding Member of ANAS Misir Mardanov, Professor of the National University of Uzbekistan Ibrohimali Normatov. The speeches emphasized the importance of information technology development in the country and the use of world experience in the framework of “public-private-academic” cooperation. Speaking about the role of information technologies in the implementation of projects aimed at improving the standard of living in the region, the scientists described the challenges in this area and wished the conference success.
Then the plenary session of the conference was held. At the session, papers were presented by Academician Telman Aliyev, Advisor of ANAS, Head of the Department of Information Technologies of AUAC, Adil Bagirov, researcher of the Federation University, Australia. The sectional sessions are devoted to the topics “Information Technologies in Intelligent Systems”, “Information Technologies in Construction, Industry and Engineering”, “Information Technologies in Modeling”, “Information Technologies in Decision Making”.
It should be noted that a total of 150 papers were submitted to the conference, which was attended by reputable scientists from 26 leading countries of the world, including the USA, Australia, Estonia, Türkiye, Ukraine, Belarus, Russia, India, Thailand, Spain, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan. Of the submitted papers, 108 were accepted for publication in the conference proceedings.
The main topics of the three-day conference held in hybrid format are: Information technologies in construction and architecture, Artificial intelligence and its applications, Problems and methods of big data processing, Parallel computing, Problems and methods of signal processing, Information technologies in the management of complex objects and processes, Intelligent control systems, Intelligent information systems, Computer networks and cyber security issues, and Application of information technologies in education.
The main aim of the international conference is to bring together representatives of research institutions, universities, international organizations, public and private sectors to discuss relevant scientific and practical problems in the field of informatics.
