14.06.2024 /
A scientific seminar was held at the Institute of Control systems (ICS) of the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan. At the meeting, Nigar Alishzade, a dissertationist of the ICS PhD program on the specialty "System Analysis, Control and Information Processing", made a presentation on "Application of CNN 3D model for sign language interpretation based on artificial intelligence".
The presentation discussed the importance of sign language translation from the point of view of developing a system implemented by means of artificial intelligence and facilitating communication with people with hearing impairments. It is noted that a visual recognition system for Azerbaijani sign language has been developed for this purpose. Recognition is based on three-dimensional neural networks classifying actions. The recognition system converts Azerbaijani sign language from video to text in real time. The system under consideration, taking into account the above objections, is an important step that will help people with hearing impairments to communicate more effectively with society and improve their quality of life.
The presentation aroused the interest of the participants and discussions took place around the topic.
