Employees of the Institute of Control Systems took part in the international scientific conference

Professor Kamil Mansimov, Head of the laboratory "Control Methods in Complex Dynamic Systems" of the Institute of Control Systems of the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan, and leading researcher of the laboratory, Associate Professor Rashad Mastaliyev took part in the 9th International Conference on Control and Optimization with Industrial Applications COIA-2024, which was held on 27-29 August. The conference, held in a hybrid format at Jerrahpaşa University in Istanbul (Türkiye), was organized by the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport of Azerbaijan, Jerrahpaşa University in Istanbul, Agra University Ibrahim Çechen and the Institute of Applied Mathematical Research at Baku State University.
The opening ceremony of the conference was attended by Member of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey Shamil Ayrim, Assistant Rector of Istanbul Jerrahpaşa University Professor Erol Ince, CEO of Katoder Sabiha Gül Doğan, as well as co-chairmen of the organizing committee of the conference Academicians Fikret Aliyev and Ahmet Ocak Akdemir.
At the conference Rashad Mastaliyev delivered a paper on "Analog of the Euler equation and necessary conditions of second-order optimality for a continuous stochastic control problem of Rosser type", written in co-authorship with Prof. Kamil Mansimov. The paper was received with interest by the participants and various questions on the topic were answered. The possibility of applying the results obtained in decision making, solving economic problems, designing complex technical systems and other practical areas was also discussed.
At the traditionally organized three-day event, scientists and experts in control and optimization from around the world discussed control theory, optimization, intelligent systems, fuzzy control, computational methods, networks and telecommunications, mathematical modeling and simulation, applications in industry and economics, identification, and other topics.
The conference was attended by more than 200 mathematical scientists and specialists from more than 30 countries, including 7 invited speakers working in the field of optimality and control.
It should be noted that, for the first time, papers accepted for the COIA-2024 conference, held with the technical support of the IEEE Turkish Section, are expected to be included in the IEEE Xplore Digital Library. All accepted and presented papers will also be sent for indexing in Web of Science: Conference Proceedings Citation Index.
