Employee of the Institute of Control Systems took part in an international conference

Doctoral student in the specialty “Computer Science” of the Institute of Control Systems (ICS) of the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan Gunay Abdiyeva-Aliyeva, PhD in Engineering, took part in the international conference “Small Modular Reactors (SMR) and Their Applications” organized by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) in Vienna, Austria, from October 21 to 25, 2024.

A.Abdiyeva-Aliyeva presented her paper “Machine Learning Solutions to Enhance the Security of Small Modular Reactors: an Integrated Approach” at the session "Computer Security of SMRs: Protecting the Digital Environment". The paper discussed the application of advanced machine learning algorithms for real-time monitoring and early detection of anomalies to protect SMRs from various types of cyberattacks. An analysis of their effectiveness was also presented and solutions were proposed to improve their operational security and resilience to potential threats. The presentation was met with interest by the conference participants, and questions on the topic were answered.

It should be noted that the Republic of Azerbaijan has joined the IAEA and is a full member of this organization.
