A meeting with representatives of the China National Space Agency was held at the Institute of Control Systems (ICS) of the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Baku on November 17, 2024 within the framework of the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29).

The meeting, held within the framework of cooperation relations established last year during the visit of the ICS delegation to the People's Republic of China, was attended by the General Director of the ICS Academician Ali Abbasov, Acting Executive Director, Associate Professor Elkhan Sabziev, Head of the Department of International Relations and Innovations Tofig Babayev, Deputy Director of the China Data Center Bo Liu, Baichuan Chen, Weijia Ren and Wei Lu.

First, Academician Ali Abbasov thanked the guests for their attention to the Institute and spoke in detail about the fundamental scientific research carried out in the scientific institution he heads and the international cooperation ties. He talked about effective relations of cooperation in the field of aerospace information processing, realization of joint research projects and personnel training within the framework of the visit of the ICS delegation to the People's Republic of China last year.

At the meeting, information on the activities of SAR (Synthetic Aperture Technology) in monitoring the Earth's surface with the support of the China Space Agency was presented, opportunities for cooperation with ICS in this field were discussed and relevant decisions were made.
