Round table dedicated to February 2 - Youth Day of Azerbaijan was held at the Institute of Control Systems

The Institute of Control Systems (ICS) of the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan celebrated February 2 - the Youth Day of Azerbaijan, organized by the Council of Young Scientists and Specialists (CYSS). The meeting was attended by young scientists and specialists of the Institute, as well as representatives of the Public Relations Department.

The meeting was opened by Chair of CYSS ICS, junior researcher Lamiya Najafova, who congratulated the members of the Council on this significant day and talked about the role of youth in science. She noted that as a result of successful continuation by President Ilham Aliyev of the state youth policy laid by Great Leader Heydar Aliyev, an intellectual new generation with wide outlook and distinguished by its managerial skills has grown up in our country.

Emphasizing the importance of youth representation in science, L. Najafova talked of complex measures and state programs implemented by the country's leadership to form highly qualified scientific personnel from them. She noted that the establishment of “Presidential Award for Youth” for talented young people who distinguished themselves with their public and socially oriented activities in the fields of science, education and culture by the decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated July 2, 2013 is a vivid indicator of the state's care for youth. Emphasizing the significance of the fact that on January 31 of this year, a researcher of the laboratory of methods of recognition, identification and optimal decision-making of ICS Rustam Azimov was awarded this prize, L. Najafova congratulated the young scientist on behalf of the council members and wished him new successes in scientific activities.

Then the members of the council discussed the issues of involving the young generation in new researches on priority research areas, checking the effectiveness of the obtained scientific results and their implementation in practice, stimulating measures taken to improve the socio-economic situation of young people, solving existing problems in these areas, as well as the upcoming tasks. Head of Public Relations Department, Associate Professor Aygun Aliyeva, PhD in Economics, Deputy Chairs of CYSS researcher Rustam Azimov, senior specialist Narmin Mammadova, researcher Sayara Hidayatzade, junior researcher Ulviya Goyushova, software engineer Majid Gurbanov and senior laboratory assistant Atakishi Goyushov took part in the discussions.

Then an intellectual contest was held among the youth. The contest included questions on the topics of “Science of Cybernetics”, “Youth Day” and “Our Institute” covering the history of the science of cybernetics, the role of youth in science and research areas of the Institute of Control Systems. The winners of the contest, held with the active participation of young people, were awarded prizes.
