One of the important scientific results obtained in 2024 at the Institute of Control Systems (ICS) of the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the direction of theoretical and applied control problems was the work “Development of a general method and system of diagnostics of the latent period of accidents that may occur in facilities where compression of oil fluid in production wells is carried out by injecting a significant amount of water into the reservoirs, and production is carried out with the help of mechanized SRP and ESP devices", performed by Professor Naila Musaeva, DSc in Engineering, Associate Professor Fahrad Pashayev, DSc in Engineering, Associate Professor Gambar Guluyev, DSc in Engineering, and Associate Professor Asif Rzayev, DSc in Engineering, under the guidance of ANAS Advisor Academician Telman Aliev.
At oil fields operated by wells, compression of oil-water mixture towards producing wells is carried out by injecting a considerable amount of water into the reservoirs by means of centrifugal pumps and its withdrawal from the wells by means of the units of SRP (Sucker rod pump) and ESP (electric submersible pump). A general methodology and SCADA-system based on noise technologies for diagnosing the latent period of accidents that may occur at these facilities have been developed.
The study also shows the possibility and practical application of selecting an effective operating mode to increase the water-in-oil factor of oil wells with low productivity and high water cut. All these scientific innovations can improve the profitability of oil fields that have been operated for a long time.
