13.03.2025 /
The international conference “Management and Control in Solving Engineering Problems” (MaCoSEP-2025, March 13-15) is being held at the Baku Engineering University (BEU).
The participants of the conference, organized by BEU, the Institute of Control Systems of the Ministry of Science and Education, the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) of the USA, Ege University of Türkiye, the University of Debrecen of Hungary and the Institute of Cybernetics of Ukraine, first honored the memory of our martyrs with a minute of silence, after which the National Anthem was played.
BEU Rector Yagub Piriyev, who delivered a welcoming speech at the conference, welcomed the guests and said that the event, which was attended by representatives of universities from Türkiye, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Hungary, Poland, Georgia and other countries, as well as influential scientists, is not only an opportunity to share achievements in the field of engineering sciences, but also an important platform for strengthening international ties and a bridge for future cooperation. Speaking about the current main tasks of Azerbaijani education and science, the Rector noted that the modern challenges of the globalized world and the need to build a highly informative society in the country place new demands on Azerbaijani science, and drew attention to the State Programs signed by President Ilham Aliyev in this regard.
The rector reported that 321 papers were submitted by scientists from Azerbaijan and 17 foreign countries at the conference, which brought together representatives of research institutions, universities, international organizations, and the public and private sectors, of which 180 were accepted. At the same time, he wished success to the participants, emphasizing that detailed discussions of the broadest problems of artificial intelligence and engineering, starting from problems of the food industry, will make a great contribution to the work of the conference.
Then, General Director of the Institute of Control Systems, Academician Ali Abbasov, the Rector of the Azerbaijan Technical University Vilayat Veliyev and the Acting Rector of the Sumgayit State University Aminaga Sadigov emphasized the importance of the conference in terms of studying the problems of leading areas of engineering, noting that the papers presented at it will act as the foundation for future research.
Professor Fateh Belaid of the Saudi Arabian KAPSARC research center and Professor Johannes Reichl of the Austrian Johannes Kepler University delivered speeches at the plenary session.
On the second day of the conference, which continues its work in sections on key areas, Professor Sedat Akleylek of the University of Tartu, Estonia, Professor Calogero Vetro of the University of Palermo, Italy, and Professor Sunny Joseph Kalayathankala of the Rajagiri School of Technology, India, will present their papers.
The conference proceedings, which will end on March 15, will be indexed in the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) database, which is included in Scopus and Web of Science.
